QFIs increase by 300% in 2019: CMA

Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) increased by 300% in 2019, according to recent data issued by the Capital Market Authority (CMA).

 

Net foreign investments in the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) surged 553% to SAR 111 billion last year compared to SAR 17 billion in 2018.

 

Moreover, foreign investors’ ownership rose 128% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 198 billion.

The increase of foreign investments in 2019 coincided with the inclusion of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) in global emerging market indices.
