The Ministry of Health confirmed on Saturday 17 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number in the Kingdom to 103, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The first involved a citizen who had traveled to Iran and is now quarantined in a health facility in Al-Ahsa.
The second is that of a citizen who mingled with an already announced case. He is now quarantined in a hospital in Al Qatif.
The third and fourth cases are of 2 citizens in Al Qatif, who came from Italy and Iran, now quarantined in a health facility.
The fifth case is that of a citizen, who came from Iran, and is in a quarantine facility in Jeddah.
A total of 12 cases are reported in Riyadh, including 3 Saudi citizens who had interacted with people already diagnosed with the disease. An American expatriate also tested positive after he came in contact with the affected people.
Also affected are 3 Saudis who had traveled to Britain and 4 others who came back to the Kingdom from France.
One French national is also reported to be affected. He came to the Kingdom from France after transiting in the UAE.
The Ministry assured everyone that all the cases are currently isolated in respective hospitals, also adding that health services are being provided in accordance with the approved procedures.
The Ministry of Health urged all to contact with the "Health Communication 937" center for any inquiry about the virus, stressing that information is to be taken from official sources and not follow rumors.
