Bank Aljazira instructed its employees to start working remotely either in public or regional departments, as of, March 17-31, 2020, except for jobs that require the employees' presence, it said in a bourse filing.

The following branches will receive customers and provide banking services:

- Main branch in Jeddah

- Al Nafal district branch, Riyadh

- Doha Hills branch , Dhahran

- Main branch, Madinah

The below branches will be open to customers and offer transfer services:

- Al Batha branch, Riyadh

- Al Morouj branch, Riyadh

- Al Balad branch, Jeddah

- Shar Hira branch, Jeddah

- Main branch, Dammam

The step comes in line with the regulations set by Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and the Saudi government to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Earlier this week, SAMA launched a SAR 50 billion financing package to support the private sector, especially the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and mitigate the potential economic impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.

Under the new scheme, up to SAR 30 billion funding will be used by all banks and finance institutions to defer payments owed by SMEs for six months with immediate effect.
