Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) will soon launch its new subsidiary focusing on power generation, Arab News reported, citing CEO Fahad Al-Sudairi.
“It will be operating independently across the Kingdom from day one,” he added.
In November 2018, the utility provider announced plans to set up a power generation subsidiary.
SEC is set to complete the installation of 10 million smart meters within 15 months, the CEO added.
Elsewhere, the company is working with the Ministry of Energy’s Renewable Energy Project Development Bureau to tie renewable energy stations into the grid according to a set schedule, the report added.
