Global automation firm Emerson signed a 7-year strategic agreement with Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) to help the petrochemical manufacturer successfully adopt digital transformation programs and optimize operations.

The alliance will target value creation through improved safety and reliability, as well as the creation of new business and revenue opportunities, Emerson said in its statement.

The engineering firm will leverage its Project Certainty and Operational Certainty programs, comprehensive Plantweb digital ecosystem portfolio, software and analytics, and other automation technologies and services ranging from control systems, measurement instrumentation and its final control portfolio to aid SABIC in achieving Top Quartile performance.

“As SABIC is continuously racing to enhance and move operations towards excellence, we look forward to such a strategic partnership with Emerson, which will definitely be a big part in this transformation journey,” Abdullah Al-Garni, SABIC GPS general manager, said.
