Saudi non-oil exports drop to SAR 16.3 billion in January 2020

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports dropped 15% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 16.3 billion in January 2020, data from the Kingdom’s General Authority for Statistics showed.

 

When compared to December 2019, non-oil exports saw a 14% decline of SAR 2.77 billion for the month.

The drop was attributed to a decrease of SAR 1.77 million in exports of plastics and rubber products, followed by exports of chemical industry products with a value of SAR 979.2 million.

 

On the other side, exports of transport equipment increased by SAR 588.2 million in January 2020.

China was the top export market for Saudi products in January 2020, followed by the UAE, India, Singapore and the US. The five countries accounted for 45.4% of the Kingdom’s total non-oil exports for the month.
