King Salman says extraordinary G20 summit aims to unify global coronavirus response

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman announced on Thursday that the leaders of the G20 will hold an extraordinary summit to unify efforts and discuss a global response to confront the Coronavirus pandemic.

 

“As the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges to healthcare systems and the global economy, we convene this extraordinary G20 summit to unite efforts towards a global response,” he said on his Twitter account.

 

Saudi Arabia, which currently chairs the G20 group, is set to convene an extraordinary virtual summit of G20 leaders’ today to advance a coordinated response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Argaam earlier reported.

 

The G20 leaders will put forward a coordinated set of policies to protect people and safeguard the global economy.
