United Electronics Company (eXtra) announced on Wednesday the closure of all stores located in cities and regions specified under the 24-hours curfew directive until further notice.
The company said in a statement on Tadawul that it is still operating 14 stores, in addition to the online platform. However, it is fully complying with the government's precautionary measures undertaken to curb the coronavirus spread.
The retailer added it cannot determine the financial impact of the closure at present and will disclose any further developments in due course.
On the private sector’s support packages, eXtra said it is working closely with relevant authorities to identify the support mechanism and feasibility.
In March, eXtra closed 5 stores located inside malls, out of 45 stores across the Kingdom, in line with the government’s directives to temporarily close shopping malls to control the spread of the COVID-19.
