King Salman eases curfew across Saudi Arabia in Ramadan, except for Makkah

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman ordered to ease the nationwide 24-hour coronavirus-related curfew during the holy month of Ramadan, except for the city of Makkah.

 

According to the royal decree, the curfew will be lifted in all regions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm local time except for the holy city of Makkah and other worst hit areas during the period from April 26 - May 13, 2020.

 

Also, a few businesses including malls, wholesale retailers and stores will be allowed to reopen in the regions where the curfew has been eased.

 

Construction companies and factories will be allowed to resume their activities without restrictions on their working hours from Wednesday, April 29, until Wednesday May 13.

 

However, entities where social distancing cannot be enforced such as beauty clinics, barber and beauty salons, sports and health clubs, recreational centers, cinemas, restaurants, cafes will remain closed.

 

Gatherings for social purposes of more than 5 people in public places or at events such as wedding and funerals will continue to be banned.
