Mortgage loans provided to retail and corporate clients by commercial banks in Saudi Arabia saw an increase of 33% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 329.3 billion in Q1 2020, according to data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
Loans to retail clients, representing 68% of the total mortgage loans, jumped 49% YoY to SAR 225.1 billion in Q1 2020. Corporate mortgage loans grew by 7% YoY to SAR 104.2 billion.
