Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) said that the Kingdom witnessed an increase in the quantity of food products imported and exported in the first five months of 2020 by 15% year-on-year (YoY) to 12 million tons.
Jeddah Islamic Port handled the most quantity of food products during the period at 5 million tons, followed by King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam at 4.2 million tons.
The authority indicated that it achieved a 6.36% increase in total cargo handling to 28 million tons in May 2020 compared to the same period last year, in addition to raising the volume of cargo goods by 8% or 212,000 containers.
