Saudi Aramco is planning to set up digital industries and non-metallic complexes in King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), Ahmad Al Sa'adi, Senior Vice President at the company, said during a virtual event organized by Asharqia Chamber on July 13.
The new facilities will attract major investors and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to service and support these industries, he added.
SPARK chairman has recently said that the city was 60% complete, expecting the development processes to be finalized in 2021, Argaam reported.
Elsewhere, Al Sa'adi said that any negative impact on contractors due to the COVID-19 crisis will impact Saudi Aramco’s projects.
The company will monitor every project’s contractors and suppliers.
The major oil producer has also offered incentives to soften the pandemic blow, including rescheduling some projects, restructuring discounts, amending contract terms and reducing bank guarantees based on project progress, Al Sa’adi concluded.
