Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) awarded a SAR 700 million contract to Saudi-based Shibh Al Jazira Contracting Co. (SAJCO) for the construction of roads and bridges.

The 3-year contract includes building 7 bridges and 45 kilometres of road, the company announced in a tweet.

So far, Qiddiya has awarded over SAR 1 billion worth of contracts and a further SAR 10 billion worth of deals are in the pipeline, it added.

In October, QIC awarded a contract to SAJCO for roadworks to connect traffic on the Dhurma Road with one of the first developments within the mega project.

Launched in 2018, Qiddiya, the 334 square kilometres entertainment, sports and cultural destination, is located on the outskirts of Riyadh and will be built over three phases until 2035. QIC is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
