Foreign investments in Saudi Arabia rise 12% to SAR 1.79 trln in Q1 2020

Foreign investment in Saudi Arabia increased by 12% year-on-year (YoY) to around SAR 1.792 trillion in Q1 2020, compared to SAR 1.606 trillion a year earlier, based on the latest official data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

 

On a quarterly basis, foreign investment fell by 1%, or SAR 27 billion.

Foreign direct investments (FDI) accounted for 50% of total foreign investments in the Kingdom, equivalent to SAR 892.5 billion.

 

Portfolio investments hit SAR 479.5 billion, while other investments stood at SAR 420.7 billion.
