National Company for Learning & Education’s (NCLE) board of directors decided on Aug. 17, 2020, to provide a discount on the first-semester tuition fee for the academic year 2020-2021 for students in all grades, the company said in a bourse filing on Tuesday.
The discount on the first-semester tuition fees will start from 50% for the KG and 1st grade, and 20% to 25% for the remaining grades.
The decision will have a financial impact on the next fiscal year. However, it cannot be determined currently, as the impact will vary depending on the student number throughout the academic semester.
The move is in line with the Ministry of Education’s plan to start the first semester online, the statement said, highlighting the company’s aim to share the impact caused by COVID-19 with parents and maintain the students’ base to serve long-term plans.
In addition, NCLE confirmed its readiness to provide all services online through its virtual platforms for students.
