King Salman approves new organization for Royal Commission for Al-Ula

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman approved the new organization of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula governorate, to replace the organizational arrangements for the Commission issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (131) dated Nov. 2, 2017, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The approval came through a royal order.

The organization aims to promote and improve the services being provided to citizens, residents and tourists in Al-Ula governorate and provide capabilities to attract the talent.

It also aims to make Al-Ula governorate more attractive to local and foreign investors, through the promising opportunities that the governorate possesses.

Through the organization, the commission will study the best international practices related to regulatory activities to help the commission achieve its future targets.

The new regulation includes establishing a unified center to support the quality and efficiency of government services provided in Al-Ula governorate, through which services are provided to developers and operators.

According to the new organization, the commission’s board of directors will annually submit to the Saudi Cabinet a budget outlining its financial needs in order to achieve its targets of developing economic and cultural interests in the governorate, and the goals outlined in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The organization aims to develop the governorate and improve its business and services related to the activities within the commission’s jurisdiction, in proportion to the value of the historical governorate and its archaeological and natural sites, the SPA reported.
