Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia saw a 31% year-on-year (YoY) growth to around SAR 31.1 billion in August 2020 from SAR 23.8 billion during the same month last year, figures from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.
Data showed that 268.5 million transactions were processed through nearly 579,900 points-of-sales in shopping malls, retail stores, and pharmacies.

On a yearly basis, cash withdrawals declined 19% YoY to SAR 48.1 billion, through 142.3 million transactions processed across 18,700 ATMs in August 2020.
