29/09/2020 Argaam Special

Argaam portal will host a webinar today, Sept. 30, at 2 pm via Zoom to explore the developments in Saudi Arabia’s banking sector.

The participants will address the performance of the Kingdom’s banking industry as commercial activities return to normal, following the removal of restrictions to control the spread of coronavirus.

The webinar will also discuss banking instruments, which can help mitigate pressures on margins amid a decline in interest rates.

Other topics of discussion include the possibility of banks’ freezing dividend for the current fiscal year, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority’s (SAMA) support measures in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, and the potential scenarios amid forecasts of the US Federal Reserve maintaining interest rates at lower levels until 2023.

Participants will include Talat Hafez, Secretary-General of the Media and Banking Awareness Committee of Saudi Banks, and Ahmed Al-Gafariah, a researcher in the field of finance.

The seminar complements Argaam’s initiative to enrich readers’ knowledge through hosting experts and analysts in the field of finance and economics.
