Saudi Arabia launches first home-made HSI32 speed interceptor boat

14/10/2020 Argaam

The Saudi Ministry of Defence and the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) announced the launch of the Kingdom's first locally-manufactured HSI32 speed interceptor boats, and the commissioning of the first floating dock.

The new boats, which come as part of a plan for the Saudization of military industries, will be manufactured locally in cooperation with France's CMN and Zamil Marine Services, according to Saudi Press Agency.

This is the first batch of interceptor boats following other batches that were earlier received by the Saudi Royal Navy from CMN, under an agreement signed between the two parties.

The agreement, which comes as part of the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France in the military industry, includes the manufacturing and supply of HSI32 speed interceptor boats. The manufacturing of the new boats involves technology transfer to Saudi Arabia.
