Saudi telecom regulator extends deadline for MVNO license bids until Dec. 10

Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said it will extend deadline for telecom operators’ application requests to obtain the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license until Dec. 10, 2020, according to an official statement.

The deadline extension came upon the request of the interested entities.

The MVNO license will help boost investment opportunities in the industry, support entrepreneurships, and stimulate innovation in services including Internet of Things (IoT) and content industry, the statement added.

In addition, allowing a foreign partner within the MVNO as an option supports local companies applying for investments in the communication sector, CITC noted.
