Saudi social insurance subscribers rose by 81,500 in Q3 2020: GOSI

Saudi Arabia’s General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) said that a total of 8.17 million private sector employees were registered in the social insurance scheme by the end of Q3 2020, a decline of 2% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ).

 

Insured citizens, who account for 21.5% of the total private sector subscribers, increased by 81,500 clients to 1.76 million in Q3 compared to the previous quarter.

 

The number of insured expatriate workers retreated by 236,900 QoQ to 6.41 million during the third quarter. They account for 78.5% of the Kingdom’s total private sector subscribers.

 

Region wise, Riyadh accounted for the largest number of insured workers at 3.2 million, or 39% of total subscribers.

 

The services sector accounted for 39.3% of the total subscribers in Q3 with 3.2 million employees, while the basic assisting engineering professions sector represented 21.7% or 1.77 million workers.
