The Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry began an anti-dumping investigation into the imports of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) from six countries, it said in a statement.

The countries concerned are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States.

The step came after the Chemical & Petrochemicals Manufacturers’ Association (CPMA) filed a complaint regarding the anti-dumping investigation.

The ministry clarified that CPMA asked to impose anti-dumping duties on product imports from the aforementioned countries, claiming that it caused damage to the local industry.
