Nama Chemicals Co. said Hassad Petrochemicals Complex will shut down chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, epichlorohydrin and calcium chloride units starting today, Nov. 19, for 22-day regular maintenance, according to bourse filing.
Epoxy plants will be partially closed for five days for utilities maintenance.
Hassad Petrochemicals Complex is managed by Nama’s subsidiary, Jubail Chemical Industries Co. (JANA).
Operations are expected to resume on Dec. 11, 2020, the statement said.
Nama added that the necessary measures were taken to mitigate the impact of this temporary suspension on its clients, such as building sufficient inventory to meet the company’s obligations.
It also expected a limited financial impact related to the maintenance budget of SAR 5.5 million.
Updates will be duly revealed, the statement added.
