The economics of education will change worldwide after the end of the COVID-19 crisis, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education, Hamad Al-Sheikh, said in a media brief on the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
Saudi Arabia maintained the learning process despite the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Distance education has changed since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis.
Al-Sheikh said the Kingdom aimed to decentralize the educational administrations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kingdom was able to prepare the distance learning infrastructure in a few weeks, and faced no problems with continuing education in universities.
Moreover, 6 million students benefited from madrasati platform, with 1.2 million virtual classes, the minister added.
Various subjects were archived and uploaded on Youtube to ensure that all students are benefiting from the educational process.
Saudi Arabia is planning more distance learning projects, Al Sheikh pointed out, noting that the Kingdom moved up to the 16th place globally in distance learning.
