The point-of-sale (POS) transactions fell by 4% to SAR 7.23 billion in the week ending Nov. 21, 2020, from SAR 7.52 billion in the previous week, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
Data showed that a total of 70.1 million transactions were processed in the week ending Nov. 21.

All sectors witnessed a decline in POS sales during the week except for the Construction materials, Furniture, Recreation & Culture, and Transport sectors.
Jewelry sector fell the most by 12% through sales of SAR 188.3 million, it was followed by the Fuel stations sector and Miscellaneous goods & services by 6% each.
Consumer spending focused on Food & Beverages sector during the week, valued at nearly SAR 1.10 billion, followed by Restaurants & Cafes sector with SAR 964.9 million and the Clothes And Footwear sector with SAR 596.4 million.
