Entertainment sector key driver of Saudi economy: GEA chairman

The entertainment sector is a key driver of the Saudi economy as it serves as a key contributor to improving the quality of life and creating several job opportunities for nationals, said Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA).

During a meeting with officials from the entertainment firms on Dec. 3, Al-Sheikh indicated that the sector helps diversify income sources and will attract the most prominent entertainment events and reach world-class levels going forward. 

He stressed the importance of cooperation between the entertainment companies, which will reflect positively on the sector through sharing the companies' experiences to accelerate the sector's development process. 

Al-Sheikh said that the sector is rapidly making progress towards the achievement of the Kingdom’s goals through overcoming challenges to ensure its qualitative and sustainable development.
