The Ministry of Health will hold a press conference today, Dec. 13, 2020, at 3:35 p.m. to discuss the latest developments with regards to COVID-19 in the Kingdom.
During the conference, Adel Al-Harf, vice president for drug sector at Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), will discuss the registration of the COVID-19 vaccines in the Kingdom, the approval criteria of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, in addition to the side effects of the vaccines.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, will also touch upon the latest updates related to vaccines in the Kingdom, the global stance, the second wave of the pandemic, the number of weekly cases, the contact center inquiries, and the cases statistics.
Last week, SFDA announced approving the registration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, after the US firm Pfizer had applied to register the new vaccine, to allow the Saudi health authorities to import and use the new medication, Argaam reported.
