The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Capital Market Authority (CMA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support and promote women on the boards of directors of listed companies, according to a ministry statement.
The empowerment strategy includes special training for women candidates, guidelines for women board members, and raising awareness about the significance of diversity, which contributes to the decision-making process.
The agreements are in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the National Transformation Program (NTP), the goal to develop public-private partnerships, and to increase contribution of Saudi nationals and women in the labor market, along with enhancing market inclusion.
