There are lucrative investment opportunities in Saudi tourism industry, especially for those who get ahead of the rest, Arab News reported, quoting Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb.

Al-Khateeb said that the Kingdom has all what it needs to achieve its ambitious steps towards becoming among the top tourism destinations worldwide.

He also stressed that Saudi Arabia needs to inject about $70 billion until 2023 and more than $200 billion by 2030 to fill the gap in the offering, whether in retail, hospitality or in entertainment.

When asked about the Kingdom's target of hitting 100 million visitors by 2030, the minister said: “Our target is indeed ambitious. However, we have everything we need to achieve our target.”

Al-Khateeb also noted that the Kingdom wants that a big portion of the spending made by Saudis on travel and shopping to be directed to the local market.
