The number of people registered to take the vaccine from the priority groups has now reached 700,000, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Ministry of Health spokesman, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali.
During the joint press briefing held today, Dec. 27, on COVID-19 developments in the Kingdom, Al-Aali affirmed that the increased turnout indicates the awareness of society.
He clarified that registration for taking the vaccine will be in phases, noting that registration is available to all members of society.
Al-Aali added that the mutated strain is consistent with the initial information, confirming it has not been proven that this mutation so far affects the virus severity or negatively affects the vaccine effectiveness.
