King Salman orders merging Ministry of Housing, MOMRA

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued, today, Jan. 24, a Royal Decree on merging the Ministry of Housing with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) and rebranding it as the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

 

Under the Royal Decree, the Bureau of Experts at the Saudi Council of Ministers, in coordination with the relevant authorities – will do the following no later than three months:  

 

1) Completing the necessary legal procedures to implement the Royal Decree, including the transfer and identification of authorities, equipment, employees, jobs, properties, items, credits, and so on.


2) Reviewing the laws, regulations, orders, royal decrees and decisions that have been affected by this Royal Decree, as well as proposing the necessary actions to complete the relevant legal procedures.

 

The Royal Decree included the appointment of Majed Al-Hogail as Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.
