Saudi Ground Services announces CEO secondment, names acting chief executive

Saudi Ground Services Co.’s (SGS) chief executive officer, Captain Fahd Hamza Cynndy, seconded to Saudi Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) as CEO for six months, extendable, effective as of Feb. 1, 2021.

 

SAEI is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Airlines Co.’s (Saudia), according to a bourse statement.

 

The step, based on the recommendations of the company’s nominations and remuneration committee, is expected to reflect positively on professional development, exchange of expertise, in addition to enhancing employee performance and boosting Saudia’s expansion plans, in line with the civil aviation strategy and the Vision 2030.

 

Additionally, SGSC board of directors approved today, Jan. 28, the appointment of Cynndy as an executive board member for the current term ending May 5, 2022.

 

Raed Al-Idrissi, SGSC executive vice president of operations was named as the company’s acting CEO as of Feb. 1, 2021 for six months – extendable.

 

Al-Idrissi holds a bachelor degree in marketing and administration from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
