“We will announce the strategy in the next couple of months and we are putting the final details on it. For those who say how can you grow and double the economy and population and become top 10 cities in just 10 years, Riyadh has done it over 60 times in the past six decades under the leadership of King Salman,” he stated.

The four layers of the strategy are expanding the economic footprint, improving livability, growing talent, and the city’s special manifestation.

“Riyadh is used to hyper-growth and has been built for it,” Al-Rasheed noted.

“It is great to have a target, but you need to have plans, timelines and mechanisms to govern this. The Royal Commission is an umbrella for all government agencies and stakeholders to ensure that all plans happen in this grand vision,” he added.
