The decision taken by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) on the Saudization of remote customer service profession is aimed to provide 20,000 job opportunities for citizens, said Mohannad Ahmed Al-Eissa, Assistant Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for localization.
Data show that there are 43,000 remote work contracts, half of which are in the customer service profession, Al-Eissa told Al-Arabiya TV, noting that companies moved to online jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
HRSD Minister Ahmed Al-Rajhi decided yesterday to Saudize the remote customer service jobs, whether through direct or indirect contracts, according to Argaam's data.
The ministry added that the decision includes work contracts and service outsourcing agreements, under which employers provide the services remotely. Moreover, the move targets all remote professions and jobs offered in customer service centers through phone, e-mail, chat, social media, direct contact, and others.
