Commerce ministry announces precautionary measures in restaurants, cafes for 10 days

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce announced several precautionary measures for restaurants, cafes, etc., starting 10 pm today, Feb. 14, for a period of 10 days.

 

All services inside restaurants and cafes will be suspended for 10 days, which can be extended, the ministry tweeted.

 

The ministry stressed that no gatherings may be allowed due to the preventive measures, noting violating facilities will be closed for 24 hours and 48 hours if the violation is repeated once, 7 days if repeated twice, 14 days if repeated thrice and 30 days if repeated for the fourth time.

 

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Interior announced suspending all events and parties, including weddings, corporate meetings and the like, in banquet halls and independent wedding halls or affiliated with hotels, as well as in rental rest houses and camps that are used for those purposes, for 30 days, which may be extended.

 

In addition, all entertainment activities and events are suspended for a period of 10 days, which might be extended.
