Arabian Aramco Total says parent company replaces board member

Arabian Aramco Total Services Co. announced that shareholders of its parent company, Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co. (SATORP), appointed Ahmed Al Khowaiter as a member of the board of directors, replacing Olivier Thorel, as of Oct. 25, 2020, according to a bourse statement.

 

Al Khowaiter joined Saudi Aramco in 1983, where he held various technical roles in oil and gas production organizations, ranging from design, project management, commissioning, and operations; as well as a number of supervisory, managerial, and general management positions.

 

He held the position of chief engineer in Saudi Aramco from 2011 to 2014, and executive director of power systems in 2014 before assuming his present role as chief technology officer.

 

Al Khowaiter holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, an MS degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA degree as a Sloan Fellow from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
