Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Al-Qasabi, confirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and interest in the private sector, the continuation of economic activity and avoiding closure due to the repercussions of the coronavirus.

 

The pandemic requires increased cooperation between public and private sectors in order to boost the implementation of precautionary health measures in commercial establishments, the minister said in a statement from the Council of Saudi Chambers.

 

The minister’s statement came during a virtual meeting organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers with store and restaurant owners to discuss support for the precautionary measures amid COVID-19 second wave.

 

The meeting included recommendations and suggestions from businesspersons and participants on precautionary measures.

 

According to the data available in Argaam, the Kingdom decided to suspend all events and concerts for a month, and, entertainment activities, cinemas, sports centers and internal orders of restaurants for 10 days from Feb. 4, 2021.
