Saudi social insurance subscribers fall 2% in Q4 2020: GOSI

Saudi Arabia’s General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) said that a total of 8.02 million private sector employees were registered in the social insurance scheme by the end of Q4 2020, a decline of 1.8%, compared to 8.17 million in Q3 2020.

 

Insured citizens, who account for 21.8% of the total private sector subscribers, decreased by 10,000 clients to 1.75 million in Q4 compared to the previous quarter.

 

The number of insured expatriate workers decreased 135,700 QoQ to 6.27 million in the fourth quarter. They account for 78.2% of the Kingdom’s total private sector subscribers.

 

Region wise, Riyadh accounted for the largest number of insured workers with 3.1 million, or 39% of total subscribers.

 

The services sector accounted for 39.7% of the total subscribers in Q4 with more than 3.18 million employees, followed by the basic assisting engineering professions sector that represented 22.6% or 1.81 million workers.
