Sipchem begins ethyl acetate plant operations after maintenance

Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) announced the safe completion of the scheduled periodic turnaround maintenance activities for the ethyl acetate plant of its affiliate, Sipchem Chemical Co. (SCC).

 

The company said in a bourse statement that startup activities for the ethyl acetate plant will commence today, Feb. 15, 2021.

 

During the scheduled turnaround, the required maintenance works for the plant were completed safely, which will enhance its efficiency, increase reliability, reduce production cost, and allow it to achieve its future operational plans.

 

Sipchem indicated that the scheduled maintenance turnaround is in accordance with SCC’s 2021 business plans.

 

The financial impact of the maintenance turnaround will be reflected in Sipchem’s Q1 2021 financial results.

 

The company also announced that it has taken the necessary actions to eliminate any potential negative impact on its customers.

 

According to data compiled by Argaam, Sipchem announced, on Feb. 1, 2021, the suspension of operations at the ethyl acetate plant of SCC to enhance the reliability and production and allow it to achieve their future operational plans.

 

The Tadawul-listed firm owns 95% of SCC.
