Arab Dalla Trading Co. filed a lawsuit against some firms in Saudi Arabia for trademark infringement, and is also close to bringing other claims against certain companies in other GCC countries.

Arab Dalla took the recourse after intellectual property-infringing products were distributed in the markets by Saudi and GCC companies, the company said in a statement.

According to Article 2/12 of the GCC Patent Law and Article No. 47/A of the Saudi Patent Law, the manufacturing, selling, using or offering to sell, or importation of a product, without the prior consent of the patent owner shall be deemed as patent infringement.

Arab Dalla chief executive officer Mansour Aldawood declined comment when contacted by Argaam for comments on the lawsuit filed by his company against Danube Company for Foodstuffs & Commodities (Danube) for compensation of SAR 124.4 million.

He, however, noted that the claim is being considered by the competent court.

Saudi-listed BinDawood Holding Co. said that Arab Dalla filed a lawsuit against its subsidiary, Danube, for patent infringement, seeking compensation of SAR 124.13 million and legal fees of SAR 300,000, Argaam reported.
