The Red Sea Development Co. (TRSDC) signed a contract with Gartner, under which the latter will provide consulting services regarding the technical procurements of the Red Sea project, according to a statement.

Gartner will help TRSDC select its technology partners, through three main specialties, namely smart destination development, information technology, and cybersecurity.

Moreover, Gartner will offer ideas and advice on licenses, technology allocation, and the scope of service and prices. It will also provide the company with vital insights in the field of technology to support it in achieving its goal of providing customized experiences for its destination guests before inauguration in 2022.

TRSDC also highlighted that the smart resort management processes will also help track visitor traffic, to ensure a smooth hospitality experience without any airport delays or resort congestion, especially amid the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

It also said that work is currently underway to develop a smart platform that covers all parts of the destination and monitors, simulates and predicts the effects of its operations on the environment. It indicated that Gartner's network of more than 2,250 analysts and research consultants has already started providing services to TRSDC upon its request, including the review of the destination's first package of smart procurements.

On the level of cybersecurity, Gartner will coordinate with the company's partners to continuously assess and improve the cybersecurity levels, while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The IT team at TRSDC will rely on Gartner's assessments and recommendations with regard to its future technology partners.
