Saudi bank loans to public, private sectors grow 15% to SAR 1.867 trln in January 2021

Saudi bank loans granted to the public and private sectors increased 15% by the end of January 2021 to SAR 1.867 trillion, compared to SAR 1.622 trillion a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

Private sector lending also rose 14% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.790 trillion for the same month.

 

Meanwhile, loans granted to non-financial public sector’s institutions amounted to about SAR 77.1 billion at the end of January, an increase of 33%, compared to the same period in 2020.
