The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing is preparing a plan, as per to supreme directives, to stimulate factories producing housing units to attract and qualify modern construction techniques, Al-Madina newspaper reported.

The move aims to raise production capacity, reduce costs, and boost quality to increase the percentage of citizens’ ownership for suitable housing units at reasonable prices.

The newspaper added that the plan aims to adopt policies to control the construction quality and implement housing units by transforming from traditional to modern construction techniques.

In addition, it targets to invest in cutting-edge technologies and contribute to keeping pace with industrial development, which will enhance the building quality and lower cost.

The Kingdom’s housing targets for 2021 include continuing to offer more units from off-plan sales to the beneficiaries of the Sakani program, according to data compiled by Argaam.

It also includes providing usufruct housing to the most-needy families, and stimulating factories producing housing units to attract modern and futuristic building technologies.
