National Medical Care Co.’s chief executive officer, Abdulaziz Alobaid, expects that the company will obtain approval from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing for the expansion plan of the National Hospital during the second quarter of 2021.

During the company's conference to discuss the Q4 2020 financial results, Alobaid said the delay in the approval was due to the coronavirus pandemic and related precautionary measures.

Discussions about changes in the price of the contract between the company and the General Organization of Social Insurance (GOSI) are still underway, he said, adding that developments will be announced after the negotiations are over.

The company is in the final stages of an agreement with a management consulting services company, which will help it develop its strategy for the next five years. The firm will announce updates soon.
