Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) will soon complete the smart meters project, Al Ekhbariya TV channel reported, citing CEO Fahad Al-Sudairi.
Smart meters will enable a subscriber to know his consumption in detail. In addition, they will help restore power, in case of outage for any reason, without the need to send a team to the field.
Saudi Electricity aims, during the current and coming years, to reduce the number and duration of outages.
Also, it targets to achieve distinction in the field through entering several investments, including the distribution automation (DA) and transmission networks.
He stated that the company is working to focus on subscribers' services, noting that the average indicator of the number and duration of outages decreased by 35% in 2020.
