The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) is planning to offer the metro project as part of The Journey Through Time masterplan in 2022, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Ahmed Al-Jahani, head of the Development, Building and Asset Management at RCU.

There are almost 100 projects, including infrastructure, utilities, resorts, and cultural centers, that will be offered in the first phase of the master plan. Some of these projects were offered, while the remaining projects will be offered starting from the fourth quarter of 2021.

RCU is currently developing Wadi Ashar through increasing the number of luxury villas from 32 to 175 this year. Moreover, more than 1,000 keys will be provided in AlUla, ahead of reaching 10,000 keys by 2035, Al-Jahani noted.

The masterplan, following the first phase of AlUla development, aims to make the region a globaldestination of culture, arts, heritage and nature, Al-Jahani added, noting that the masterplan will be implemented over 15 years.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched on April 7, 2021, “The Journey Through Time” masterplan to turn AlUla into a global destination for travelers offering heritage, nature, art and culture, in line with Vision 2030, Argaam reported.
