The General Presidency of Al-Haramain (GPH) completed the preparations for welcoming the pilgrims and performers of prayers during the holy month of Ramadan through an operating plan focusing on intensifying the precautionary procedures and preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, GPH's spokesperson Hani Haider told a local TV channel.
He added that 5,000 workers will cleanse all the hallways of the Grand Mosque 10 times a day, and 14 virtual paths were allocated for pilgrims in the courtyard surrounding the Kaaba to ensure physical distancing of no less than 1.5 meters between every two persons.
The official indicated that the vaccination is a precondition to get a permit for Umrah or prayers, adding that the vaccination will be available in two doses or getting the first dose and waiting for 14 days, or vaccination after recovering from the disease.
