Saudi Arabia records 1,070 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

Saudi Arabia recorded 1,070 COVID-19 cases today, April 20, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 407,010, the Ministry of Health stated.

 

This the first time to record daily infections of more than 1,000 since the end of August 2020.

 

Recoveries reached 940, raising the total number of recovered cases to 390,538 (97% of total COVID-19 cases).

 

Active cases totaled 9,626, of which 1,105 cases are critical.

 

The Kingdom reported 12 new deaths, with the death toll standing at 6,846.

 

Riyadh reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 483, followed by Makkah (209), Eastern Province (157), Madinah (44) and Asir (39).

 

Saudi Arabia concluded 62,069 new tests, bringing the total number of laboratory tests to 16.29 million.

 

More than 7.40 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.
