OPEC+ brings forward committee meeting to today

A meeting of the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) that was originally scheduled for tomorrow, April 28, 2021, will be held today, April 27, Reuters reported, citing souces.

 

The decline in estimates in some countries is expected to pose a challenge to the OPEC+ meeting, in which the group will discuss its production policy, after it decided to gradually ease production restrictions starting in May last year.

 

According to sources, the OPEC+ joint technical committee (JTC) kept its forecast for growth in global oil demand this year, but is concerned about surging COVID-19 cases in India and elsewhere.
