Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced plans to perform Hajj rituals this year (1442 Hijri), in accordance with the health requirements and coronavirus preventive protocols, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
“The Kingdom’s health authorities are taking all the required precautionary measures to maintain a safe environment,” the ministry added.
However, the ministry has not yet announced any official instructions with regard to conducting the annual pilgrimage of Hajj this year.
Last year’s Hajj pilgrim numbers were limited to around 1,000 to protect public health in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
